Retaliation was pushed back and so were the figures, but we’ve got a look at the upcoming Wave 2 Firefly.

There are two Fireflys in the second wave of Retaliation figures, a single carded and a 3-pack. We already looked at the 3-pack Firefly and now it’s time to look at the single carded.

This one has a Ray Stevenson head, pretty decent likeness. The sculpt on the figure is nice. It’s got some nice details. The back of the jacket has a nice flame design. The green/yellow camo is a bit weird, but it’s relatively muted and not very bright. The unmasked head looks pretty good. The colors on the masked head seem a bit off from the rest of the figure though, it doesn’t match as well.

No ankle articulation, but Firefly stands pretty well without it and it’s not needed to sit on the blastboard.

The blastboard is a neat little accessory and I think if there were more items like this in the RoC and Retaliation lines, then the adult collectors would enjoy it more. The kids might like the big missile launchers, but the adult collector doesn’t. Accessories like this though? That might be something that appeals more to the adult collector.

The board launches a canister from the front. It’s supposed to be a bomb and the launcher works decent enough. The canister is translucent, so it seems like it would light up, but it doesn’t.

Lighting up is the main draw of this figure. The handles on the blastboard light up at the push of a button and they are supposed to, according to the packaging, light up Firefly’s arms when he holds the handles.

They don’t.

The light doesn’t show up on the camera very well, but it is a bright green. It just doesn’t light up the special plastic on Firefly’s arms and hands.

Like I said above, the figure is decent, but the weapons are not. Neither gun fits very well in his hands, they are held loosely. Most people will probably equip him with another weapon and keep the pistols in the holsters.

All in all, it’s an okay figure, nothing special. The blastboard is the best thing about the figure. The 3-pack one is a better Firefly figure, as is the Joecon announced Ultimate Firefly.
