Playmates new line of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figures are hitting the stores and the ‘Verse grabbed a couple today.

I’ve always been a Raph fan. My favorite Turtle. He’s what I always figure Wolverine came from, that gruff loner that has a slight wild edge and mean side, but a heart of gold. So of course he was the first figure I picked up.

I LOVE THIS FIGURE!!

He’s great. There’s a lot of detail to him. I absolutely love the crack in the shell. He’s got great articulation. The head swivels, shoulders rotate, elbows and wrist. Great range of motion in the legs. His knees bend and his ankles move. Alot of articulation and can get him into a lot of poses. He even balances decently.

Besides his Sai, he came with a lot of weapons. They really did a great job with this figure. If the rest of the Turtles are half as good, the line will be excellent.

The Shredder is a decent figure even if I’m not a huge fan of the design. The bladed armor on the legs seems a bit bulky. It’s a little detracting from the overall figure. Shredder comes with a sword and a couple shuriken.

It’s kind of odd, but the Turtles apparently get geared out and the rest not so much? Shredder didn’t even have the little catalog that Raph came with.

Shredder has decent articulation. I’d heard that all the figures besides the Turtles had lesser articulation and it’s partly true with Shredder. The only place he’s lacking is the knees and ankles. Which isn’t good because it limits the posing can do with the figure.

He also can balance pretty well.

I’ll definately be picking up this line. Raphael is an impressive figure. The Shredder wasn’t as impressive, but still a decent figure.

I pretty much had the same reaction. I picked up Donatello and Leonardo. The Turtles have a nice visual weight to them and are some truly fantastic action figures. The only thing I wish they had was increased elbow articulation. Beyond that I love them.

Shredder …. Well, I completely agree with your review. It kills me that there is no knee and foot articulation. The potential for a great figure is almost there.

Great review! Please keep them coming. I’m looking forward to the vehicle reviews.

Remind me, what was the size of this figure line? Does Ralph look short compared to Shredder to anyone else?

The Krang looked great hanging on the peg at TRU. I didn’t pick any up, because if I start I won’t stop. These look good.
