We had to wait three waves to get her, but the Black Widow is finally appearing on the shelves.
The first waves of the Avengers figures featured the Big 4 pretty heavily. Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the Hulk all had their own movies, are bigger names and so they got the spots in the first couple waves of figures. Somehow Ultimate Hawkeye snuck in and not Movie Hawkeye. But that figure joined the Black Widow in the later waves.
So now people can complete their movie Avengers set (as long as that Nick Fury figure still comes out).
Black Widow is a decent looking figure. The plastic used in the arms and legs feels cheap though. In trying to pose her, I felt like I was going to bend or break her. Not good. The guns are also fairly bendable and I had a hard time getting the second one into her left arm. She has one in her right arm in the package, so that one stayed pretty well.
The figure is nice to look at. Good details all around. Good paint apps and a decent head sculpt. I wish that the widow sting bracelets were a different color to make them stand out more.
There’s no chest articulation, which seems odd, but par for the course for these figures. She is still pretty posable though, but still had that feeling like was going to snap a leg off when moving her.
The guns fit snugly into the holsters, which is great. All figures should have working holsters in my opinion (if they have a gun of course).
With the distribution being so bad in my area, and lots of Avengers peg warming, I was pretty worried I wasn’t going to be able to get this figure. Even with it’s faults, I’m glad I got it.
Now to find a 2nd one so can use the head for a custom G.I. Joe figure…
